Looking through the lens of Emergency Doctor and his wife, a Doctor of Psychology, during COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Ashkan Golshan has been practicing emergency medicine for over fifteen years. He is currently employed at Abbotsford Regional Hospital in the emergency department and works in focused areas of emergency and trauma medicine. He worked through the SARS epidemic as a medical student and resident in Toronto. Dr. Golshan has completed a Master of Public Health with a concentration on complex humanitarian emergencies.
Dr. Carla Dassinger has been providing mental health services for over ten years. She was employed by the federal government for several years. Currently she holds a private practice and provides mental health services through the province and private organizations. She provides mental health services to First Responders, focusing on trauma recovery and return to work.
They have been married for ten years and have two young daughters. They are navigating through the pandemic as a family while living with a front-line worker at home.
